Today, I want to talk about how America became a country. It all started in 1620 when British people sailed to America on a ship called the "Mayflower".
When they landed on the shore, they found themselves on an island which did not have many people. This is because British and Spanish people who got there earlier, had killed thousands of Indian people there.
But the strange thing was the people who were there were very nice to the British.
The Indian people gave them food and a place to live.They worked together。When it was cold or when there were deadly diseases. Indian people took care of them. So that British celebrated a Thanksgiving day. But the good days did not last long.The British wanted the land for themselves To make a new country. so then they killed Indian people.They got the land and that was how America became a country.
